Juliet Nutland

Juilet Nutland

Juliet is a retained consultant of IP Asset. She has nearly ten years experience of helping clients acquire, develop, exploit and protect their intellectual property rights.

Juliet began her career at BTG plc (formerly British Technology Group plc and the National Research and Development Corporation), qualifying as a solicitor in 2003 after a secondment to the city law firm Allen & Overy.  At BTG she gained extensive experience in the negotiation and drafting of Patent Licence Agreements, R&D Agreements, Material Transfer Agreements, IPR Assignments, Commercialisation Agreements and Consultancy and Confidentiality Agreements.  In 2004, Juliet moved to a highly regarded niche law firm based in London which specialised in advising technology clients. Here the focus of her practice expanded beyond patents to include trade mark, design right and copyright matters and the preparation of Copyright and Trade Mark Licence Agreements and Collaboration Agreements dealing with ‘soft’ IP rights. During this period she also advised on and managed litigation in relation to breach of contract; defamation; infringement of copyright; trade marks; and cases of passing-off.

Juliet holds a Diploma in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Bristol.

Juliet loves to sing whenever and wherever she can, round the house, in the car, in a choir, at a Karaoke and even as part of a larger choir singing at the Coliseum with the English National Opera. She also has a passion for the theatre and fine dining.
